BEIJING/SHANGHAI
China will launch its fifth manned spacecraft Shenzhou-10 to the orbit on Tuesday.
The spacecraft will take three astronauts, two male and one female, into the space, said the program's spokeswoman, at a press conference on Monday.
Shenzhou-10, which carries vital importance for China's space program, will dock with China's orbiting laboratory Tiangong-1. Shenzhou-10 will deliver its crew to the Tiangong 1, where they will conduct further tests of the station's docking system and its systems for supporting life and carrying out scientific work.
Wang Yaping, the only female astronaut in the crew, will lecture primary and elementary school students on Earth, from space.
Wang will also demonstrate while lecturing in orbit, and interact with students and teachers on Earth.
Course materials, teaching aids and a classroom for the lesson have been prepared, and the date and time of the class is to be announced once the space craft is in orbit.
