ISTANBUL
The summit meeting of heads of state and government of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) began on Tuesday with the opening remarks made by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in a special session of the Council of Foreign Ministers.
Thanking the participants of the BSEC summit meeting on the 20th anniversary of the organization's foundation, Davutoglu said that the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers would provide an opportunity to discuss global and regional issues.
Congratulating Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic for having been elected the President of the UN General Assembly, Davutoglu thanked Jeremic for his efforts as the term president of the BSEC.
Jeremic, in his part, said that he was pleased to be in Istanbul.
We will discuss very important topics in our meetings on Tuesday, Jeremic stressed.
We will hand over the term presidency of the BSEC to Turkey. I am sure that Turkey would be successful as the term president, Jeremic also said.
