Confidence in the Turkish economy was sharply lower in February according to official data released on Monday.
The Economic Confidence index was down 14.8 percent compared with the previous month, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a report.
The decrease in economic confidence index was driven by deteriorations in all sub-readings of the data, namely consumer, services, retail trade, construction and real sector confidence indices.
The largest decline was in consumer confidence sliding 7 percent. Services and retail trade confidence indices followed with 3.5 percent and 2.4 percent declines respectively.
Construction and real sector confidence indices saw slides of 1.3 percent and 0.7 percent.
