ISTANBUL
Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened at 2,020.27 points on Friday, up 12.72 points, or 0.63%, from the previous close.
On Thursday, the BIST 100 index closed the day at 2,007.55 points after increasing 2.26 points, or 4.76%, with a daily trading volume of 32.7 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 13.8200 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.7290 at Thursday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate was up to 15.6460 from 15.5350, while a British pound traded for 18.8618 liras, increasing from 18.6520.
Brent crude oil sold for around $82.7 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
