Several explosions heard in Iraq's Erbil city

Several explosions were heard in Iraq's northern city of Erbil on Wednesday evening, according to local media reports.

The explosions were caused by air defense systems intercepting a drone, Erbil-based Rudaw Media Network reported.

Parts of the intercepted drone fell onto a parked car, the outlet said.

Iraqi authorities have not yet issued any statement regarding the incident.​​​​​​​
