Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Beijing on Sunday to begin a state visit to China.
Abbas is visiting China at the invitation of President Xi Jinping.
Chinese leader and Abbas held talks in regards to bilateral ties as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
President Xi stated his pleasure for the visit of Abbas who is the first president to visit China from the Middle East following the leadership change in China.
Xi stated that they appreciated the peaceful attitude of Abbas, emphasized the willpower of the Palestinian people during the transformation and expressed the support of China and the international society to Palestine.
Abbas also emphasized the good relations between Palestine and China since the 1960s.
Both parties signed bilateral agreements in culture and tourism following inter-delegation talks.
Meanwhile Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will arrive in Shanghai on Monday on an official visit.
Palestinian and Israeli leaders are visiting a third country for the first time in 20 years.
