Turkish main opposition CHP denies resignation claim

ANKARA

Main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) on Wednesday denied resignation claims about its party leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

“There is no such agenda as resignation,” CHP lawmaker Bulent Tezcan said during a news briefing at the party's headquarter in capital Ankara.

The party also decided to expel Gursel Erol, an MP-elect from the Elazig province, eastern Turkey from the party over his call for the resignation of Kilicdaroglu.
