UNITED NATIONS
The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Catherine Ashton said that she hoped Iran would display the necessary 'flexibility' so that nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 (Five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany) can make progress.
Speaking at a meeting on cooperation between the UN and the EU at the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Catherine Ashton touched on the nuclear talks between the P5+1 countries and Iran.
We do hope that Iran displays 'flexibility' in our meeting in Kazakhstan on February 26 so that we can make important progress, Ashton stressed.
In order to solve the (nuclear) problem, we will continue diplomatic dialogue with Iran and also continue to place international pressure on this country, Ashton added.
