HATAY (AA) - July 23, 2012 - Residents of Kizilcat villiage which is nearby Syrian border in the south of Turkey said Monday that there were gunshots and shelling during the night on the Syrian side.
Mehmet Bilgin, a villager, said they heard sounds of heavy clashes during Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Syrian Turkmen Population, Mohammed Seikh Ibrahim, said that the regime supporters were bombing Turkmen villages near city of Latakia.
"2 people were killed and 6 others were wounded in the recent clashes, and we are worried that the numbers may increase. Syrian Army continues its attacks without a pause," said Ibrahim.
Ibrahim also said that after the blast in Damascus last week, Al-Assad administration had been escalating violence against Turkmens.
