-Justice Minister OKs probe into three prosecutors
Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag has allowed the Supreme Court of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) to launch a probe against three prosecutors as part of an anti-graft operation that has rocked Turkey since December 17.
The Third Chamber of the HSYK decided in early January to launch an investigation against Colakkadi, prosecutors Zekeriya Oz and Muammer Akkas, Celal Kara, and Istanbul's newly appointed police chief Selami Altinok.
The desicion, in accordance with the respective law, is subjected to the approval of the Minister of Justice. Bozdag allowed the probe against Zekeria Oz, Muammer Akkas, and Celal Kara - the key prosecutors in anti-graft operations launched in December 17, while he rejected the Istanbul chief prosecutor and police chief.
The Third Chamber of the HSYK is responsible for the oversight of judges and prosecutors.
