ISTANBUL
Brazilian Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota said that the Syrian government was responsible for the violence in Syria.
Speaking at a conference at Istanbul's Bahcesehir UniversityV, Minister Patriota indicated that "a cease-fire in Syria was necessary for a transitional period."
"We favor a consensus in Syria. A military solution in Syria would bring no benefits," Patriota said.
On nuclear energy, Patriota noted that Brazil utilized nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Touching on Turkish-Brazilian relations, Patriota said that they wanted to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
