ANKARA
Turkey and Botswana on Tuesday signed a protocol on setting up a joint economic committee to boost trade ties between the two countries.
The protocol was inked by Turkey's Labor and Social Security Minister Faruk Celik and Botswana's Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation Minister Phandu Tombola Chaka Skelemani in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Speaking at the penning ceremony, Celik said the protocol would increase trade volume between Turkey and Botswana, which stood at 1 million USD, adding that potential cooperation areas in trade included agriculture, industry, energy, tourism and construction.
Skelemani, on his part, said that his country welcomed the cooperation protocol with Turkey, adding that Turkey had a vibrant and powerful economy with stable political environment.
