Slovenia's Parliament Speaker Janko Veber has said Tuesday that they were working to ease visa procedures for Turkish citizens.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek started off his official talks in Slovenia on Tuesday.
Cicek as well as Turkish Minister Science, Industry and Technology Nihat Ergun and an accompanying Turkish delegation visited the National Assembly of Slovenia and met with the Veber and other officials.
Following their meeting, Cicek and Veber appeared in a joint press conference.
Veber said, Slovenia was affected by the economic recession in Europe and they were working hard to recover from the crisis.
He added that Turkish economy was really strong and that good relations between Turkey and Slovenia needs to be improved further.
"The National Assembly of Slovenia supports Turkey's EU accession process," said the Slovenian parliament speaker.
Veber stated that his country worked to ease visa procedures "to ease the lives of Turkish citizens. By this means, we will be securing capital flow as well as encouraging more cooperation. We will improve the economic development more."
The Turkish parliament speaker, on his part, said that relations between the two countries were a strategic partnership, adding that the two countries had similar point of views in many areas.
Cicek separately met with Slovenia's President Borut Pahor as well as with the Turkish citizens who reside in Slovenia.
Lastly, Cicek attended a dinner hosted by Janko Veber.
