All of the dailies covered Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's expected meeting on Wednesday with Taksim Gezi Park protesters. Erdogan made an appointment with a group of protesters to meet at the Justice and Development (AK) Party Headquarters on Wednesday, as daily YENI SAFAK said. The meeting will include the members of Taksim Platform as well as several singers and some students. "The big meeting for Taksim Gezi Park" headlined daily SABAH citing Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc as saying "We are ready to talk but will not except imposition. Outlawed protests will not be allowed." Referring to the meeting, daily HURRIYET published "Gezi Summit with Prime Minister tomorrow" and said most of the groups in Istanbul's Taksim Square were uninformed of the expected meeting with Erdogan.
- Match-fixing shock to Besiktas and Fenerbahce
Almost all of the dailies also covered European soccer's governing body the Union of European Football Associations' (UEFA) announcement that Turkish soccer teams Besiktas and Fenerbahce face possible sanctions on match-fixing accusations. Daily TARAF quoted UEFA as saying "Justify yourself for rigging" and said UEFA charged Champions League contenders Fenerbahce and 5 club officials including president Aziz Yildirim in match-fixing case. Proceeding have also been launched against Besiktas in relation to match-fixing activities during the 2011 Turkish Cup Final. UEFA will hold a disciplinary hearing in 10 day's time, and verdicts are expected at the end of the month, said daily VATAN.
- Alcohol regulation wins Turkish President Gul's approval
Most of the dailies covered Tuesday that the new alcohol regulation received approval from Turkish President Abdullah Gul. The new regulations tell it is forbidden to sell alcoholic drinks between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in markets and kiosks, says daily MILLIYET adding there will be no promoting images of alcohol in TV series, films, and music videos. "Gul approves, alcohol regulation becomes law" headlined daily STAR and said Gul approved five legislations including alcohol regulations which require warnings in Turkish on the packages of alcoholic drinks as well as bringing limits to the sales.
- Division between Turkish artists over Gezi Park protests
"They almost lynch us" daily SABAH quoted Ajda Pekkan, one of the prominent Turkish artists, as complaining about some artists protesting together with the public. Many artists have been keeping away from taking part in Taksim Gezi Park protests while some others have been acting together with the protesters across Turkey. Those who avoid the protests face pressure from the others who actively take part in the anti-government protests. The daily cited Hulya Avsar, another prominent artist, as saying "It is not true for an artist to go and join in the protests. An artist should be on side of peace, not taking any sides."
