NAGOYA
The UNESCO World Conference on Education began its discussions of "Learning Today for a Sustainable Future" in Nagoya, Japan on Monday.
Turkey's Education Minister Nabi Avci is to speak to the education ministers of other member states in a round-table section. Education ministers from countries around the world are participating in the conference which will run from Nov. 10-12. Minister Avci will also meet his colleague, Japan's Education Minister Hakubun Shimomura.
More than 1,000 participants from over 100 countries are participating in the conference, including many academic and political personalities from Europe and around the world.
They will talk over the accomplishments of the decade (2005-2014) in education and sustainable development.
They will also discuss the contribution of education to international development goals, and enhancing local initiatives.
