ISTANBUL (AA) - July 30, 2012 - Syria's opposition National Council said Monday that Aleppo, the country's largest city, was at the hands of a humanitarian crisis after a major offensive by Assad forces.
Releasing a statement, SNC said the Syrian army imposed a partial siege on downtown Aleppo and on parts of the countryside, barring fuel, medical and most basic food items such as flour.
The council urged international community to launch an aid campaign for those affected by the crisis and calling on the United Nations to declare a no-fly zone over entire country.
