ALEPPO (AA) - August 1, 2012 – Clashes between Syrian army and the opponents are continuing in Aleppo city of Syria.
Anadolu Agency's war correspondents covered the attack of opponents on a military base in Salah al-Din neighborhood of Aleppo.
During the long clash, 20 soldiers of Syrian army were killed, while Free Syrian Army took 16 soldiers captive.
The opponents confiscated the weapons in the military base which almost completely burned down.
AA team, comprised of war correspondents Samet Dogan and Savas Gul and cameraman Kenen Yesilyurt, have been in the region for 15 days under difficult condition.
AA team struggled for their lives for 18 hours especially during the heavy bombardment and fire in Salah al-Din on July 30. The team was trapped in crossfire which wounded AA photo journalist Sinan Gul in his feet. The team survived by taking cover in a mosque.
The opponents carried Sinan Gul to a hospital in Aleppo. He was then transferred to state hospital in Kilis city in Turkey with the help of opponents. Following his treatment in Kilis, Gul was taken to another hospital in Istanbul.
