JERUSALEM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that “those who think that excessive concessions to Iran will lead to a change in its policies received their answer in the aggressive and provocative speech that Khamenei gave.”
Iranian Supreme Guide Ali Hosseini Khamenei said Saturday in an Eid al-Fitr sermon: “Tehran will not change its policies toward the arrogant United States of America or in the Middle East region.”
“The nuclear agreement with world powers will not affect Iran’s support for its friends in the region, one of whom is Syrian President Bashar al-Assad,” he added.
Israeli daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Netanyahu said at the start of the weekly Israeli cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday that “Iran is not making an effort to hide its intention to exploit the tens of millions of dollars that it will receive as a result of the nuclear agreement to arm terrorists.”
“Tehran has made public that it will continue its fight against the U.S. and its allies, the first of which is Israel,” he added.
The Israeli government and the opposition are opposed to the agreement reached by world powers and Iran regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.
Iran and the P5 +1 group of world powers had reached an agreement last Tuesday surrounding Tehran’s nuclear program.
