MOSCOW
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Aleppo was about to live a new tragedy.
Lavrov told reporters at a press conference in Sochi on Saturday that currently armed opponents had the control of Aleppo, and the city was about to live a new tragedy.
It is not realistic to expect Syrian government to tolerate this situation, he added.
Earlier on Saturday, army of al-Assad administration entered Aleppo city from Salah al-Din, Sikari and Saif al-Dawla neighborhoods by tanks. According to preliminary reports, five soldiers with Free Syrian Army as well as 15 civilians were killed in the attack.
With a population of about 3 million, Aleppo is Syria's largest city and commercial hub, a key pillar of support for al-Assad's regime.
