Turkish stock exchange down at Thursday’s open

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 12,052.94 points, down 0.54%, or 65.35 points.

On Wednesday, the BIST 100 fell 1.08% to close at 12,118.29 points, with a daily transaction volume of 86 billion Turkish liras ($1.74 billion).

As of 10 am local time (0700GMT), exchange rates stood at 49.4175 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 55.5250 to the euro and 65.6055 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,138.60, while Brent crude futures were trading at $104.55 per barrel.
