Turkish stock exchange ends Tuesday in red

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 12,290.58 points, down 2.40% from the previous close.

After starting the day at 12,516.00, the BIST 100 index decreased 302.18 points from Monday’s close.

The day’s low was 12,281.21, while the high 12,547.16.

A total of 19 indices rose in value, while 77 closed in the red.

Transaction volume reached 108.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.22 billion), while the total market value of the index stood at 11.74 trillion liras ($240.14 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 49.00 as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT), while the EUR/TRY rate stood at 55.57 and the GBP/TRY at 64.75.

Gold was priced at $4,160.05 per ounce, while Brent crude futures stood at $104.41.
