Russia has deployed interceptor drones and laser weapon systems to defend its airspace and critical infrastructure, particularly against unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks along its border, according to a Russian government announcement Thursday.
A relevant resolution amending the existing border-guarding order was published on the government portal.
According to the document, the duty forces include radio-technical means and automation complexes designed for conducting radar reconnaissance of aerospace adversaries and providing information on the aerospace situation.
The duty forces also include anti-aircraft missile systems, aircraft, helicopters, ships, boats, electronic warfare means, and special weapons—interceptor drones, radio-frequency weapon complexes, laser complexes for countering unmanned aerial vehicles, and universal launchers capable of engaging means of aerospace attack, as well as their command and control bodies.
