The Israeli army intensified its attacks on southern Lebanon on Friday, with artillery shelling and explosions targeting seven towns in the Tyre and Nabatieh districts.
Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA) said the attacks targeted Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, Buyout al-Sayyad, Beit Lif and Srebbine in the Tyre district, as well as Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Mayfadoun in Nabatieh.
In Tyre, Israeli artillery fire targeted the outskirts of Beit Lif and Srebbine in the morning, following similar shelling at dawn on Mansouri, Majdal Zoun and Buyout al-Sayyad.
Israeli forces also carried out explosions in Mansouri, the agency said, without providing further details.
In Nabatieh, Zawtar al-Sharqiya and the outskirts of Mayfadoun came under intermittent Israeli artillery fire.
An Israeli Merkava tank also shelled neighborhoods in Zawtar al-Sharqiya from the direction of Mayfadoun, while successive explosions and bursts of heavy machine-gun fire were heard near the town’s western outskirts.
The shelling sparked a fire in a neighborhood of Zawtar al-Sharqiya near Mayfadoun.
The agency reported no deaths or injuries from the attacks.
The attacks come amid continued Israeli escalation against villages and towns across southern Lebanon despite an agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv providing for a gradual Israeli withdrawal as part of a US-mediated negotiating process.
Since March 2, 2026, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have killed more than 4,000 people and injured over 12,000 others, while forcing more than 1 million people from their homes, according to Lebanese authorities.
Israel occupies areas in southern Lebanon, some held for decades and others seized during the 2023-2024 war, and has expanded its occupation of Lebanese territory during its ongoing military offensive.
