ISTANBUL (AA) - July 23, 2012 - Turkish Minister for European Union Affairs and Chief Negotiator, Egemen Bagis, has said that any equation would be solved with harmony and tolerance in Istanbul.
Attending the Fourth World Congress of the Game Theory Society on Sunday in Istanbul, Minister Bagis stated that Istanbul was a place to solve problems in peace.
"All equations give result with peace in this city. Whole problems are solved here with harmony and tolerance," said Bagis.
Bagis stated that game theory had drawn his attention while he was studying at the university.
Reminding that having game theory lesson at the university, Bagis stated that now he was using its advantages as a chief negotiator on Turkey's EU affairs.
1994's Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics Sciences winning world-renowned mathematician John Nash and other Nobel laureate scientists including Eric Maskin, Roger Myerson and Reinhard Selten were attending the congress.
Some hundred scientists from Turkey and a thousand scientists from all over the world are also attending the congress.
Game Theory Society was founded in January 1999 and it aims to promote the investigation, teaching, and application of game theory.
Every four years the society hosts its world congress. The first was held in Bilbao, Spain in 2000. The second was held in Marseilles, France in 2004 and the third one was at the Evanston Campus of Northwestern University, in USA.
