BERLIN (AA) - Turkish German Alliance for Innovation and Justice Party (BIG) became the first immigrant political party in the country to run in the German Federal elections to be held on 22 September.
"Think BIG," says the party's campaign motto and it has been announced by German Federal Election Board as the first immigrant party to run in the elections.
Haluk Yildiz, the party's leader, said they were proud of being the first immigrant party to compete in the federal elections.
"Peace cannot be achieved without real justice," said Yildiz, emphasizing that social justice, fighting against poverty and racism, and equality of opportunity were among the main goals of the party.
The Germany's election are scheduled for on 22 September to shape the 598-member Bundestag, the main federal legislative house of the country.
